Riksbyggen required a strategy that both reduces construction costs and shortens lead times for housing production. The objective was to identify approaches used by leading industry players to lower costs through deliberate procurement strategies and to create the conditions for long term partnerships with the right suppliers.
Coreco carried out a preliminary study in which we developed Riksbyggen’s strategy for more efficient new housing production. The work included study visits to organisations that have successfully reduced costs through structured procurement and standardised ways of working. In the next step, we jointly procured two long term framework agreement suppliers. The strategy is expected to reduce construction costs by up to 25 per cent and shorten production time by approximately six months per project.
