Many of us have extensive experience in construction delivery with some of the country’s largest construction companies. Our backgrounds include roles as project buyers, contract procurement specialists, business developers and heads of procurement.

The name Coreco is a play on words, inspired by the English terms Construction, Relations, Contract. This represents the very core of our purpose and offering. You can also read Core and Co, reflecting the core itself and the idea that we do it together. It doesn’t stop there – you can also see Reco, which conveys that we work with fair terms and keep our promises. Finally, you can also spot Eco, highlighting our strong focus on climate and the significant impact the construction and property sector has on it.

Coreco was founded in 2015 by Mikael Sjölund, who had a decade of experience as Head of Procurement at Skanska, where he led the development of a rapidly expanding procurement organisation. With experience and a passion for improving the construction and property sector, Mikael took the initiative to start Coreco to contribute to the industry’s development. Early on, Henrik Melkstam – formerly Procurement Director at AF Gruppen – and Per Tjernberg, management consultant and former Procurement Director at Ericsson, joined the company. Mikael, Henrik and Per are the main owners of Coreco.
Today, Coreco has approximately 40 consultants working on assignments ranging from complete turnkey contracts for residential development and refurbishment projects for combined heat and power plants to procurement of materials for major tunnel projects and final repositories for spent nuclear fuel. Our clients include Volvo, Vattenfall, Stockholm Exergi, Akademiska Hus, Stegra, Trafikverket, JM and Svensk Kärnbränslehantering.
Our assignments can include, for example, procurement of complete turnkey contracts for housing production, refurbishment contracts for power plants, or the purchase of materials and subcontractors for tunnel projects. In recent years, we have also acted as advisors on numerous investments and completed around 50 recruitments for various companies.
