SKB is responsible for developing Sweden’s facilities for the final disposal of radioactive waste and works continuously to strengthen its strategic procurement capabilities ahead of major upcoming projects. The organisation needed to recruit a new Head of Procurement to lead and develop the function within a technically advanced and long term operation.

The recruitment required a candidate with both strategic and operational procurement expertise, as well as the ability to work within a complex and highly regulated environment. As the role is central to SKB’s future projects, it was essential that the process was conducted with a high level of quality, clarity and a deep understanding of the organisation’s procurement strategy.
Coreco had previously developed procurement strategies together with SKB and was therefore able to quickly gain a clear understanding of the required competence profile. We carried out a structured recruitment process including selection, assessments and analysis in collaboration with Talent Q.
