ByggPartner is a rapidly growing construction company, expanding both organically and through acquisitions. To ensure quality, cost control and efficient project delivery, the organisation requires a clear structure for both strategic and operational procurement. As 70 to 80 per cent of a construction company’s turnover consists of purchased materials and subcontracted works, procurement is directly decisive for the company’s financial performance.
Growth made it necessary for ByggPartner to establish a shared understanding of how procurement should be conducted across the organisation. There was a need to identify the ways of working that deliver the greatest impact, clarify roles and responsibilities, and further develop collaboration with suppliers and subcontractors. The objective was to strengthen procurement as a strategic function that contributes to both improved profitability and more effective project delivery.
Coreco conducted a full day workshop together with ByggPartner’s executive management, regional managers and project managers. The work focused on identifying key priority areas and formulating an action plan to develop the procurement function. The day resulted in clear priorities and a shared direction for how procurement can become a stronger competitive advantage.
